VISUALIZING METRICS DATA
Client Industry: Finance | My Role: UX and chart type design
Infusion developed this pilot web application for our client’s reference data team. The application consists of a front-end user interface for visualizing system metrics data on browsers of desktops and tablets.
Project Goals
- Provide and design interactive visualizations for various aspects of reference data utilization.
- Enhance and optimize existing app to accommodate new features that meet our client’s business requirements.
Target Audience and Needs
The application is served as an internal tool for our client’s reference data team. The target users are internal users who have access to investigate the data in order to get insights on data utilization. There is a need for the end users to not only view, search, filter the desired information, but to compare the selected data set at the same time.
The Experience
All the enhancements illustrated in the wireframes are based on this demo of the application here: http://infusionnucleus.cloudapp.net/charts
Note the link to the demo was an initial proof of technology in the previous phase, and my involvement as a UX designer is to enhance the overall usability and experience with best practices.
My Role as UX Designer
During the 2-week engagement, I hosted several design workshops with the stakeholders and our internal team to gather business requirements, to ideate data visualization, and to iterate user interface. I translated requirements to wireframes illustrating the user journey and workflow.
